Remember when you were in Elementary School and on rainy days you had to stay in class all day. And you got to play heads up 7 up, and that game where you would sit on your desks and throw the ball around and it couldn’t touch the floor, and you got to color all day. Wouldn’t that be fun again.
Well we didn’t exactly do all that but we had a rainy day ourselves yesterday. It was the first rain of the season and the sad little noodle kept longingly looking outside, but of course it was just too wet to go out. The rain was really loud outside and my favorite thing he kept doing was putting his finger to his ear and tilting his head. If he could talk I’m sure he would have been saying, “Geesh mom, do you hear all that rain?”

So instead of playing outside we watched Nemo, read books, flew airplanes, danced to 70’s music, and made cookies.

He was such a good little helper making cookies with me for the first time. He loved it! And isn’t that little face just sweeter than sugar!

On November 30th Miss Abby turned 2 years old. Erin and Colin celebrated by having the family over for cupcakes. It was a fun night celebrating her big day.

These are the best pictures of the night.

I love her little face! Happy Birthday Miss Sass!

but someday he might not be laughing.
While we get ready in the morning Ethan likes to do this.

He moves the tampons from one box to the other and back again.
Hey, whatever keeps him out of the toliet so we can take showers works for me.

So I know fall hasn’t officially ended and winter has not officially began, but I always feel that the seasons change from November to December. It just feels like winter has started.
My farewell to November is this yummy coffee.

My mom received it as a gift and does not drink regular coffee so she generously gave it to me. Goodbye everything pumpkin, you just don’t seem right for December.
My fall farewell picture of the noodle.

On this particular day he was picking the leaves off the ground and trying to put them back on the trees. I wish I would have gotten a picture of his little hands trying his “hardest” to get those leaves to stay put.
Goodbye Fall.
My winter welcoming are these.

I start craving sweets this time of year and when I was at the store the other day I had to buy nilla waffers, because they are simply goodness. And I had cupcakes last night, and lemon cake today, and…Bring it on!
My winter welcoming picture of the little man.

He got into my wrapping paper last night and I let him have some old Christmas wrap I didn’t care about. He had a great time crinkling it, crunching it, and sliding on it across the floor. Christmas is going to be awesome!
Hello Winter!

We started out our Thanksgiving weekend at my mom and dad’s house for a fabulous Thanksgiving feast. There was tons of good food, pie, laughs, left right center, hugs, football, dessert (did I already say that), old faces, new faces, and an all around good time.

Then on Friday we headed to the River. We had a nice time just relaxing. We went for a boat ride, ate food, watched the boat parade, and did a whole lotta nothing.

Abby and Ethan were dancing together, or more like Abby was forcing him to dance with her.

When he gave up she danced alone.

My mini photo shoot before we left this morning. Between him trying to jump off the dock and being mesmerized by the boats, I wasn’t able to get the Christmas card photo I was hoping for. Oh well…Aunt Emily comes home Wednesday so she can help me out.

Happy late Thanksgiving again! Now…on to Christmas!

I don’t know if a lot of you are like me, but on Thanksgiving I sometimes forget to say thanks and recognize what I’m thankful for. The meaning of the holiday somehow gets lost in all the preparations, planning, and travel of the day. Well this year I don’t want to forget. I have so much to be thankful and grateful for and I want to acknowledge it. So here is my list.
I am thankful for…
*Brett: We are more times than not complete opposites, but it makes me look at things differently. He lets me be who I am and encourages me in everything I want to do.
*Ethan: I’m so thankful he is a healthy, funny, adorable, smart, loving, growing boy. My life has been changed over the last 16 months because of this little man.
*Family: They love us, encourage us, and lend us a helping hand. They are a fun, caring, supportive bunch and some of my favorite people in the world. Plus a few of them watch our little man and I am more than thankful for that.
*My Sisters: If you would have asked me years ago if I was thankful for them I would have told you, No Way! They are annoying, pesky, and on and on. But they have become my best friends, my favorite people. I can’t imagine what it would be like without them. They are each so unique and individual and enormously fun.
*Our Jobs: Brett continues to excel (I know I’m bragging a little) in the non-profit world where cutbacks are taking place right and left. And I have the greatest boss I could ask for.
*Our Health: We have been so lucky this year to have no major health issues. I pray that it continues through this season.
*God: For his love, salvation, and forgiveness. I am not thankful enough during the year for what God has done in my life and I need to recognize it more often.
The list could go on and on.
I hope you have a wonderful, safe, fun, and relaxing Thanksgiving.

Miss Radley James Wilson turned 2 years old on the 19th. It doesn’t possibly seem that it could have been 2 years ago that she was born. Time is flying by.
The lucky girl got 2 birthday celebrations. The first one was at Aunt Erin’s house on the actual day, where we enjoyed a fabulous dinner and cupcakes.

I have no cute pictures of Ethan eating a cupcake because for the first time ever he didn’t want desert. On that night he was not my child.
After dinner and desert they were messy enough to need a bath. Once again, these pictures will be used for blackmail someday.

Then on Sunday we did some more celebrating with the whole family.

New Uggs from Gee and blocks from Aunt Erin…

This last picture is seriously my favorite.
Happy Birthday Miss Rad!

A lots been happening around here and I haven’t had the time to share.
Well I have to be honest, I have had the time, but I’m having a bit of a love affair with these people…

Have you met them yet? The cast of Mad Men.
My girlfriend gave me Season 1 & 2 on DVD for my birthday and I’m obsessed. So a lot of my free time has been consumed with watching this fabulous show.
But I have found time to take pictures of what Ethan likes to do.

He likes to watch Brett mow the lawn from our front window.

He likes to eat cake.

He likes to go from screaming to happy in just seconds.
More fun pics to come very, very soon. But I think I might end for the night and watch me some Mad Men.
