Noodle & Doodles

Silly Faces.

February 9, 2010 · 1 Comment

Over the past few days I’ve caught some silly faces from the little noodle on camera.

He has never wanted to wear sunglasses, until the other day. He wanted mine so badly and I remembered that he had some in his closet. He thought it was hilarious!

Yesterday he woke up a sweaty mess and in a very silly mood.

And this is what you will look like after waking up a sweaty mess then rubbing your head all over the pillows on the couch.

I love that little tongue.

Tired.

February 4, 2010 · 3 Comments

I’m tired.

No take that back, I’m exhausted.

I don’t think I have ever been this tired in my life.

Here’s proof…

I never let my sink look like this. It’s gross. I usually do the dishes when Ethan takes a nap or goes to bed and I was just too tired, so I laid on the couch instead. Oh well.

It’s amazing how one tiny little baby can take so much out of you. I was tired when I was pregnant with Ethan but I had more time to relax and rest. It’s not possible when you have an 18 month old running around. And to make matters worse, Brett has been gone since Tuesday. Thankfully he will be home Friday, and then I plan to sleep.

Oh and have I mentioned that I’m already showing. Yep, at about 6 weeks my pants started getting a little snug. I even asked the doctor if there were twins in there because I couldn’t believe I was already showing. I guess my body just remembers what it was like and is just falling into place.

Here’s me…8 weeks.

I know this kind of sounds like I’m complaining, but I’m not. I’m excited, happy, joyful, and proud.

And I’m just tired.

Trucks and Waves.

February 1, 2010 · 2 Comments

So I’m a few days behind but we had a fun-filled weekend and I thought I’d share.

On Saturday night we went to Monster Jam at Angel’s stadium.

For those of you that do not know, Monster Jam is where Monster Trucks race one another, but the fans really come out to see the trucks jump over cars, crash into one another and roll over. Ethan loved it! He kept yelling at the trucks, “go, go, go”! I wasn’t too sure if he would be scared because of the loudness but it didn’t seem to bother him at all. He’s such a boy.

Sunday morning we packed up Ethan and Kalli and headed to dog beach in Huntington Beach. Only one problem, there was no beach. The tide was high and the waves were huge so there was little beach to play on, so we stayed on the bike path where we almost caused a few accidents.

Ethan trying to walk Kalli was nearly impossible. He kept letting the leash go and then she would run one way and Ethan would run the other. Most of the time Brett had to carry Ethan and they held the leash together. It was just a little tiring to say the least. But I can’t complain, it was beautiful outside and we enjoyed watching the waves.

Drumroll Please…

We’re having a baby!!!

That’s right, I’m pregnant.

We are so excited, of course, and can’t wait for this little baby to get here.

We found out New Year’s Eve, although I expected it a little sooner but it was too early to detect. We finally went to the doctor yesterday and we saw the little heartbeat and everything looks great. I’m about 7 weeks, which makes my due date September 10th. It seems so far away but I know it will be here before I realize. So far I’ve felt pretty good, just really tired and I have nausea this time around. I rarely felt sick with Ethan so this is all a little new.

I can’t get over the fact that we are going to be a family of 4. I have to admit I’m a tad bit anxious about how it’ll all work but I know everything will be fine once the baby is here. I’m also a little sad that Ethan is not my littlest and only baby anymore. I know he will always be my baby, but I won’t be giving him my undivided attention all the time like I do now.  I’m trying to savor these months with him before the baby is due.

The next 7 months will be an adventure for our little growing family and although I am a bit anxious and sad, I’m more than ecstatic about what is to come. I’m a mixture of emotion but, oh yeah, I’m pregnant…I should be.

And here’s a not so great picture of the silly big brother to be.

The last couple of days.

January 20, 2010 · 1 Comment

Let us start with Monday shall we…

Brett was home for the holiday and we decided that since it was going to be a rainy day, we’d stay in jammies and play inside. We had a picnic in the living room and Ethan drew some lovely pictures.

And I let him eat goldfish in the bath.

I caved. He was eating a snack and it wasn’t his normal bathtime and he needed to get in, he started screaming, and I gave in. He quickly figured out that he didn’t like soggy fish though.

Then Brett and I headed to the Laker game!

We had a great time eating, people watching, and enjoying the game.

But at the end of the game we got a message from my sister, Emily, who was watching Ethan, that he had thrown up in his bed. I felt horrible! First, for the little guy since he’s never had the stomach flu, and second, this could not have happened to a worse person. Emily has a slight phobia (maybe that’s too strong of a word), for people who throw up, so I felt terrible for her. But she did do a fantastic job of taking care of him.

He was good through the night but looked like this in the morning.

Pitiful. All was going well and when he was having a little lunch he got sick again. He had the most helpless look on his little face. I felt so terrible and sad for him. And he cried and cried and then fell asleep for a long time.

While he was sleeping this was happening outside.

We don’t get much weather around here so this was exciting. Plus, we had a tornado warning! I had visions of this tornado swirling around in my backyard, and me running into Ethan’s room, grabbing him from the crib, getting under blankets in the hallway to shield us from debris flying through the windows. But there was no tornado. Just some strong wind. But hey, it was exciting.

Back to Ethan. He was doing fine last night. He ate a little dinner, had a bath and even danced around a bit. He slept good, so I went to work and so did Brett. Then my father-in-law called and he’d been sick again. Ugh!

I came home to this sad face.

He’s sleeping now as I write and I’m hoping he keeps down some of the snack he ate.

Oh and it’s raining like crazy outside! Maybe there’s another tornado in our future. Better get the blankets ready.

Race Weekend.

January 19, 2010 · 1 Comment

Over the weekend we headed to Laughlin Nevada for my dad’s off-road race. We had a good time hanging out in the dirt and watching the racecars. I didn’t take too many pictures, I just wasn’t in the mood, but I did get a couple cute ones.

Dad’s watching the races with their kiddos.

Miss Radley.

Aunt Emily had cookies and they attacked.

The future face of Wilson Motorsports.

One thing I did do was play around with the lens Brett had gotten me a while back. I usually take photos close up so I don’t get to use the zoom lens too often and I’m still learning. But it was fun taking some action photos.

Unfortunately both cars broke down the second day of racing and were unable to finish, but it was fun to go and support the team. Plus, I got to relax a bit, eat a lot, read some of my book, and gamble a little (although I didn’t win a thing). So who can beat that, right?

I turned my back for one minute this morning and the noodle was gone.

This is where I found him.

Oh how he screamed when I made him get down.

**And please excuse the messy desk. Our “office space” is the next project on the list and hopefully I will get it done soon.**

Look what came in the mail!

January 9, 2010 · 1 Comment

For Christmas my parents gave me a gift certificate to amazon.com and I knew exactly what I wanted.

Check out these beauties.

Some of them I have read and some I have not, but I will be reading all of them, eventually.

And then I had to get myself this.

Just looking through it makes me salivate. I can’t wait to start trying some of her recipes.

Leaves.

Our yard was full of leaves. Not anymore, thanks to our big helper.

It’s funny how lately he wants to do everything that Brett is doing. He’s becoming such a little man.
